As a volunteer with Sahyog Pratishthan, I’ve learned that every sapling we plant today contributes to a cleaner, greener, and healthier tomorrow.
The Power of Planting Trees
Trees are the lungs of our planet. They absorb carbon dioxide, release oxygen, and help maintain the earth’s natural balance. A single mature tree can absorb up to 48 pounds of CO₂ every year, making them a vital tool in combating global warming.
Beyond that, trees provide shade, reduce soil erosion, conserve water, and support biodiversity by providing shelter and food for countless species. In a fast-developing city like Thane and its surrounding regions, tree plantation is essential to maintain ecological balance and ensure sustainable urban growth.
Sahyog Pratishthan’s 2025–2026 Tree Plantation Initiative
As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental conservation, Sahyog Pratishthan has launched a new initiative for 2025-2026 — the plantation of 500 saplings at Kasara Forest Department.
This initiative aims to restore green cover in the region, prevent soil degradation, and create a safe habitat for local wildlife. With the support of volunteers, forest officials, and eco-conscious citizens, this campaign will help us contribute meaningfully to the global reforestation movement.
My Experience as a Volunteer
Being part of this mission has been an inspiring experience. Each sapling planted feels like a promise — a promise to protect nature and create a better future for generations to come. Working alongside dedicated volunteers and the Sahyog Pratishthan team taught me that small collective efforts can lead to big environmental impact.
